Jump to navigation. I recently found out that my partner was msging a girl from his work for months, she is 11 years younger. He kept the messages from me and deleted them before he got home or before I got home from work..

He says he loves me and would never had done anything with her and was just getting to know her so then I could become friends with her also.

He deleted her of social media but now says he will add her back one day as they are friends and all it was was a friendship and that he should be able to have female friends. And that he should be able to hang out with her as friends on his days off and that I should trust him and that he wants to be with me not her.. What would you do? All is well and good minus deleting the messages.

Of course he can be friends with females if you can clearly see that they are friends and nothing more. As soon as messages are deleted, things smell fishy. And if I stop him he will hate me for it and never forgive me..

I wonder if it was around the other way and you were speaking to a guy friend but deleting the messages, how would he feel? I'd leave him if he is going to be that firm on his boundries. Buddy, if you wanna threaten that you'll never forgive me for not allowing you to have female friends when you're hiding messages for me, then I'll show you the door. Oh just no please! He is setting the playground for infidelity and possible exit he is lying through his teeth in so tired of men like this I has one had one he's out the door looser little boys who never grow up they get worse and all your going to get is pain hurt and a lot of mental health issues and heart ache and possible physical issues get rid of him now do yourself a favour these losers never ever ever ever change their stupid and have no idea how to receive it give love please leave him , look what he said he can do whatever he wants he literally is picking her over you no matter what what an absolute pig man , I mean he could never forgive you ahh get rid of him.

He obviously likes her if her friendship means that much to him. How did you find out.? The only thing I see wrong about this is the fact that he deleted the messages. If it was innocent then he had nothing to hide, BUT if you did come across the messages and they were in fact innocent how would you have reacted? Maybe he values the friendship but needs to draw a firm line with her on appropriateness?

Do you have any reason beyond this to doubt him? One of my BF is an ex work colleague opposite sex and I was referred to by him and friends as the work wife. We have found over years our friendship to be invaluable in understanding our partners and we both could discuss problems with our partners and get really honest responses from the opposite sex.

We both also developed close friendships with our partners. Maybe you could get to know her too. If he rates her friendship maybe you will? I think you are the exception not the rule, stop making excuses for him! Yeah bullshit he would be out if that was me. Blaming you for his dishonesty is the problem I have. It means he will do it again and it challenges you not to do what you should because he's already called that you would.

Of course you should and he knows it. Turning it back on you. And if he honestly thinks saying he hid it to protect you is a good excuse, that a a deal breaker right there anyway, that's not the kind of relationship you want. Anyway you know it's not true and just excuses and manipulation. He's manipulating you. Act brazenly innocent and turn it around, accuse you and makes you look crazy for your response.

YOU get to decide what's not ok for you don't forget it. How would he take it if this was the opposite way around? As in it was you who has a male friend and you deleted the messages between the two of you? How would he react. My ex did this with one of our work mates. If he hangs out with her then there is no problem taking you along if they are just friends.? I call bullshit! Sounds suss to me.

He deleted the messages!! My husband doesnt hang with his woman co workers on his days off He was the one who deleted the messages and hid their relationship from you. If he had been open from the beginning I would say it was different but how he has reacted and handled the situation gives you great reason to be alarmed.

One of my husbands closest friends is a girl, she was my maid of honor at our wedding, but he has never once tried to hide their relationship. I just ended a relationship because of this exact problem -deleting messages. Even though he said he loves me, he doesn't respect me if he did this. I got the same response that I would have 'made a big deal out of nothing', if that is the case he was still engaging in a conversation that I wouldn't feel comfortable with then there is no respect.

My version of 'nothing' may be different to his but that doesn't mean it's wrong. He should respect you and your boundaries is what I'm saying, it is just as important as love. I smell a rat If it was just friends why delete?

And the excuse of you reacting is bs. By using this site you agree to our terms. Tuesday, 6 August - What to do? Post Anonymously. Wednesday, 7 August - Wednesday, 14 August - Deleted messages sounds like a red flag!
